Lillian was the daughter of Irving Felix Ball and Anna Guggisberg, who married on December 18, 1910, in Kings Co., New York. (Cerificate 12462.) Irving's parents were Edward Williams Ball and Abbie Torbett. Anna's parents were Rudolf Guggisberg and Magdalena Langenegger.

Irving and Anna were on the 1920 census together, living at the same address as Anna's married sister Lena Wood:
