I am trying to figure out my husband's family tree, and am stumped on his great grandfather. I have been told that his great grandfather, Bernard Callahan was born in 1868 in Scotland and that he was illegitamate. A year later his father, Bernhard Callahan came to US (maybe Canada) and married an Anne or Anna (uncertain if first name is accurate) and had at least 1 child, James Callahan. Bernard came over at age 21 and lived with this family. I cannot at this point verify any this and am hoping maybe I can trace the Ballum side. Can anyone help me here?
