Looking for any info about a James C. Ballenger from Rusk County, Texas who died in Civil War. He is listed on the 1860 U.S. census for Rusk County along with his wife Pauline O. Ballenger. Census information has his age at 30, birthplace was South Carolina, occupation listed as a "stoker". Pauline's age is 16 on the census and her birthplace is shown as Missouri. James C. Ballenger served in the 3rd Texas Cavalry and died at Vernon, Mississippi in 1863. The town itself no longer exists. Have no further information at this time.
