Hi David, I have Thomas Ballenger born 1811 in Spartanburg County died 1882 in Rusk County Texas buried in New Prospect Batist ChurcH. He didn't have a son named David but he must be some kin to your David. Can't see a nephew by that name. Thos had a cousin James A. Ballenger born 23 Dec 1831 but think he left Spartanburg for Missouri. Same as your Pualine. Lots of pieces to the puzzle. Maybe we can find a few more. Bruce B
