I'm trying to tie up loose ends, so bear with me, please. In researching a g g grandfather, Drury Moberly, in Boone Co., MO, I find that his will was wittnessed by William Cunningham, and James E. Ballenger (Ballinger) in 1863.
Drury's 2nd wife was Tabitha Barrett, (married name) b. ca 1806 S.C. I also found that Drury and Tabitha's neighbor in the 1860 Boone Co., MO census was James E. Ballenger.
In checking up on Wm. Cunningham, I find through internet postings, that his wife was a America Francis Ballinger . So, if America B. and James E. B. were siblings, then it looks like Tabitha might also have been their sibling, since you mention a Tabitha. People did move and live next to kin or families who had been allied for generations.
Can you help? Drury was b. MD, was found in Madison Co., KY in 1810, then Indiana 1820, then Ill. 1830, and finally MO from 1840 until his death in 1863.
Tabitha named her first son Thomas, so perhaps his father was Thomas Barret? Help! I'm floundering.
Many thanks for any help, Judith
