Hi Carol,
Did you ever find information on John Walter Ballinger, son of Albert Columbus Ballinger And Elizabeth Dobbs? They were on the 1870 census in Blount County, Alabama along with his brother Dr. John Fletcher Ballinger and his family. Albert and Lizzie had two young children, a son and a daughter. Their names were not listed, only initials.
I am guessing that the family went to Texas while John and his family stayed in Blount County. According to what I have seen John W. was born in Texas. I know that John Wayne and his mother, Lizzie died in Irwin County and are buried there. I suppose the rest of the family died of illness out west. I have never found anyone to confirm my suspicions. Please fill in any blanks if you can. Dr.John F. is my gg grandfather.

Also, do you have any information on Agnes V. Floyd, wife of John Ballenger b. 1750 Virginia? It is as if she just appeared!

I am beginning to think that she was not his first wife and mother of his children. There is a sentence from the Joel Green record that makes me wonder.

Do you know if there are any exsisting pictures of the Big Shanty area where Dr. John Ballinger lived before the war? I just have to believe there might be pictures out there somewhere of the family.

Haven't we conversed before? Hope to hear from you soon!

Becky

Thanks,
Becky Woo
