Nathaniel Balston of Boston

Nathaniel Balston of Boston married in 1727 Hannah Hirst (1708-after 1746 when she signed a deed with her husband), dau. of Grove Hirst and gr-dau. of Judge Samuel Sewall.

Annie Thwing says the husband of Hannah Hirst was that Nathaniel Balston b. at Boston in 1687 son of Jonathan and Susannah (-) Balston, that he m. (2) at Salem in 1751 Eunice (Turner) Browne.

But a Nathaniel Balston was also b. at Boston in 1691, son of Nathaniel and Rebecca (-) Balston. Thwing has no further info. on this Nathaniel but Whitmore in Coll. Mass. Hist. Soc., 5th Ser., xxxviii, says he is Hannah Hirst's husband and that Nathaniel husband of Eunice Browne is a son.

The two Nathaniels were first cousins.

Is there any evidence that supports either Nathaniel or the other as the husband of Hannah Hirst?

Thanks, Eben
