Bute Co., N.C., Rev. War Ens. Wood Malone's (under Capt. Bennet Wood) widow Barsheba, wed Wm. Noyal Norsworthy from Virginia, and removed to Alabama. Her son Thomas Malone, Sr., at Ft. St. Stephens, Ala., circa 1805, was Asst. Indian Agent, U.S. Magistrate, and U.S. Land Office Agent. Malone with Lt. Gaines, escorted Aaron Burr under arrest, to trial, Richmond, Va. Wood Malone's father was John Malone of Malone's Bridge and Malone's Crossing, Dinwiddie County, Virginia. I suspect both Malone and Capt. Bennet Wood were kin to Gen. Abraham Wood of Dinwiddie County, Virginia? I also descend Sir Edmund Bellinger, Sr., Landgrave, of Ashepoo and Tombodly Baronies, S.C., by son Capt. William Bellinger, Sr., and wife Mary Cantey, who had Elizabeth Bellinger, 2nd wife of the Hon. Henry Yonge, Sr., Loyalist, H. M. Surveyor-General of Georgia. Henry called his 1st wife, Christiana Bulloch a "rebel"; she being the sister of Patriot Gov. Archie Bulloch of Georgia.
