My family originates from southern Illinois in a very small town known as Grand Tower. It is located approx 40 miles north of Cairo, Illinois on the Mississippi River and bordering Missouri. My older brother has made a complete geneology search of our family history, (of which I have a copy) and would be happy to give you what information I have, but I need to get his approval first. I can tell you that our ancestors originate in Germany and settled in Frederick, Maryland. From there we pretty much branched out and settled mostly in southern Illinois in the towns of Grand Tower, Alto Pass, Cobdon, and Murphysboro.
