Yup, that's what I'm saying all right. Baltzell name went through a heck of a lot of changes to get to the way it is not, even a lot of different spellings here. A book by Thomas Baltzell Brown also theorizes that the Baltzell's came from Basel or Basle Switzerland. In Germany there is also a town called Baltz, and zell means town. Also the 'z' is not pronounced zee like in englishIt has more of a 'tse' sound. Either origin could be correct but the latest I saw from Historical Research Center placed the name from Switzerland. Whish I had been interested in all this when I was in Germany in the 80's. Anybody else have any theories or ideas on the origin?
