There are two families of Baltzell's in so. Illinois. One in the Union/Jacoson co area are decendents of Henry who came from Marykand via Ohio...he is a descendent of the Baltzells of Frederick County Maryland who came from Alsace Germany. The Ba;tzells in the Mt. Vernon area are decendents of William and Harriet (Webb) Baltzell...she is a descendent of William Bradford of Plymouth, Mass. They had 24 children, 6 set of twins...only 18 of the children survived to settle in the Mt. Vernon area, he, William, was a hatter and ran a business on the square in Mt. Vernon. This information was taken from a book...which I have lost the name of and my memory will not call it up. This may give you some leads.
