Banfield Capron

My 6th great grandfather was Banfield Capron. Family tradition says he came from "the north of England near Wales". For years researchers assumed this meant Cheshire. Several years ago on a hunch I looked at some Devonshire records and found a few Caprons. I also found an Elizabeth Callender which was his wife's name. I also noted that there serveral Banfield families there as well.

I now am working on the premise that the family story should have said "the north of Devon near Wales" and that Banfield was possibly a family name. Maybe his mother's or grandmother's maiden names.

Banfield Capron was born circa 1660 and went to America about 1674.

I would appreciate any and all help with finding the parents of Banfield Capron.

Thanks

Phil DeSilva
