Seeking ancestors of John Banfield (1642-1707) Portsmouth, NH

Seeking information on ancestors of John Banfield of Portsmouth, NH, b. 1642 m. Mary Pickering dau. of John Pickering. John Banfield, fisherman and mariner, died at Barbados before 4 Nov. 1707. John Banfield is mentioned in the "Genealogical Dictionary of Maine and NH" as well as the "Piscataqua Pioneers" which repeats part of the Dictionary's info.

There is a Christopher Banfield, b. abt 1636, who was in the same area. I don't know if these are the immigrant brothers or if their father is the immigrant (assuming a relationship).

Any assistance would be appreciated.
