I am doing some research on the founding of the Anderson Mill in Port Alberni and of course came across the name William Eddy Banfield. The IGI suggests he was christened on the 8th of September 1822 on the Scilly Isles father George Banfield mother Jane. I wonder if the Eddy middlename is the last name of one of the Banfield wives?
I really haven't found a great deal about William Banfield. Couldn't find any reference to his death in the British Colonist (newspaper)which surprised me. We should know more about him but we don't which is odd. Any leads would be most appreciated.
Cheers david from Nanaimo, B.C.
