Is there any interest in setting up a surname project on family tree dna for the various spelling variations on Banfield? It is surprising to me that there isn't one at this time.
My paternal haplogroup is R1b1b2a1a4 and that is associated with Frisia/Doggerland. That was ancestral location prior to migration to the UK. This haplogroup (sub clade of R1b1b2a1a1) only arose 2,000-3,000 years before present. It would certainly be interesting to have a surname group to compare with.
My testing thus far has been on 23andme but I will set up a project on FTDNA and re test there if there is interest.
