Your Bannahans, etc. could be a variant of Bannigan. I have some Banigans (Bannigans) in the family & I believe that they originated in Co. Monaghan, Ireland.

I am currently trying to trace the birthplace and dates for Felix Bannigan and his son Patrick. If I come across anything of interest I will let you know.
