Asahel Banister & Lovina (Louisa is misreading of census, I think)Lunnon had 9 children: 1. Phoebe (wife of John Lewis of Tompkins), who had one son 2. John, a farmer in Texas, who had 8 children and died in 1902 3. Charles L. Banister (father of the subject of the Deland article, Alexander)
4. Alexander, farmer in California, died in 1900, wife whose maiden name was Rush & their 4 children
5.Roann, the widow of George Gould, lives on farmin Tompkins, and has 2 children 6. Christine, the widow of Henry Clay, who lives in Dearborn, Wayne County, and who had 4 children, one deceased 7. Edwin (twin of Edward) lived on old homestead in Tompkins Twp; married twice, to H Hewett, then to Adelia Trefri, and has 6 children 8. Edward (twin of Edwin)married Julia Raymond, who had 7 children 9. Altha (my note: Althea) who married Charles Hatfield, who survives her husband, and they have 4 children
KGE notes:This is from the DeLand bk, but it is accurate. They moved to Fairfield Twp,Lenawee Cy, MI in 1832,bought & cleared land in Sec 16, then moved to Tompkins Twp, Jackson Cy, MI in 1839 or 40.Lovina died first,& is buried at Tompkins. Asahel died in Dearborn, MI living with his son Jacob(not--may have been grandson? Asahel's movts are easy to track on census recs & I can gv those to anyone. But I can't figure out who his father was. It is making me nuts!
