I think that your dad's parents may be from two different states in Mexico. The name Barba, from Jalisco. The name Flores, from Nayarit. I believe his mother, your grandmother, was most likely from Nayarit. And most likely, her family was indigionous to Mexico, they may have been indians, a.k.a. native Mexicans.
My father is Barba, and he is form a small town called Los Dolores, which is about an hour away from Guadalajara, Jalisco. My mother's mom (grandma) is Flores, and she is from Nayarit, she (grandma) is 1/4 indian.
So this is my reasoning as to where your father's heritage comes from. I hope this helps.
