Joanne, making research on my family in the period of Federick the third (king of sicily),I came across the Barba name as possessing a feud in Novara di sicilia,prov. Messina. The Barba were not related to my family so I did not paid attention. I will see if I can find the source. I will be back to You. My best. Angelo
