My grandmother was Rachel Anne Bard born to Richard and Elizabeth (Fields)in Calais Maine about 1856. She had several brothers and sisters born in and around aroostook county in northern maine. I am interested in the genealogy and also their history. I was always told they changed the spelling of their name and went to Canada to avoid a war. I would like to know what war, Who ,When and Where were they from? They are buried in montpelier, vt.(1907 and 1917). My grandmother and grandfather are in the same plot with them and her sister Elizabeth
Carr. Anyone out there Interested? Doris
