My mothers maiden name is Rachel Anne Bard, born in 1934.
I asked her about this, because her fathers name was Samuel Horning Bard. He was the son of Abraham R. Bard who was married to Mary (Whiticomb) Bard, my mothers grandparents.
Mary, was originally from England and according to my mother Rachel, seh was from some kind of royalty there.
I believe my Grandfather, Samuel Horning Bard is the grandson of the Samuel Horning Bard you are looking for.
By the way, Abraham R. Bard died of a head injury sometime around 1952 when he was about 75 years old. My mother is the one who found him on the floor after he fell and hit his head.
