Sara - last e-mail to you failed again. Gto do it this way until your problem is solved.
Sara - It's not that much trouble to do this. It's all on my computer. Here is what I sent you - Your mailbox might be limited in size and that is why the second e-mail might not have gone through. I he noticed since leaving AOL that my provider has a lot smaller mailbox for me.So i have to keep deleting my inbound and sent items more often. Here is the e-mail I sent.
Sara - I got your e-mail getting the history. Good.I want to send you by snail mail the American Barhorst generations of interest to you. They include these generations which are ancestors fo Richard Barhorst.
1.Carl Anton Barhost and Maria Elizabeth Freking - the last generation born in Germany and emigrating to Fort Loramie, Ohio.
2.Carl's son Johann Heinrich Barhorst and wife Elizabeth CAtherine Grieshop.
3.Johann Heinrich's son Herman Henry Barhorst and Anna Maria Thaman
4.Herman Heinrich's son Henry B. Barhorst and Margaret Schlater. This family group includes Richard Barhorst, your ancestor.
There are many German generations.Let me know what you think of the ones I can send you. Just give me a mailing address and I'll stick them in the mail for you.
I hve not told you who I am. I am a retired engineer in Soputh Charleston, WV. We are graduates of the University of Dayton. My wife Joan Kremer is from Mercer County. WE have four married children and nine Grandchildren, scattered all over the country.
I guess my roots are in Dayton now, as I have three siblings living there. Carl Anton Barhorst's daughter, Maria Agnes Barhorst, is my grandmother's grandmother. So the Barhorsts are far up the maternal side of my family.
I have cooperated with Barhorst researchers for a long time now and I know a good deal about those in America. I am sure there are some smarter than I.
As you can see, i don't know a lot about the Henry B. Barhorst family. It's just getting too far afield for me to do that research. I like to point people back to their German ancesetors so they can know where they came from.
When I sent you this I will include that little map of the Barhorst farm of about 1789. It is just a drawing showing the close relationship of the Barhorsts with the Borgerdings in the Ihorst Farming Community.
Best Regards, Jim Scharf
