Hi,
I'm originally from central Kansas and was told my Barkman ancestors descended from Russo-Germans known as "black Germans" due to the dark pigmentation of their skin. I also am told of an Anna Barkman who came to Kansas along with a group of Mennonites bringing turkey red wheat to this state. Any information on how our stories differ as to ancestory (the English "Barker" as opposed to a Russo-German lineage) would be of great interest to me and my family. Thanks.

Sincerely,
Nick Barkman
