I purchased the subject undated studio portrait of a middle-aged couple and 10 children taken by Palethorpe, Greenville, MI. It is identified on the back of the mount:

"Family of Mr Barlow-Baptist preacher
Spencer Mills"

This family appears in Public Member Trees posted on The head of household, Nathan Pratt Barlow, born 28 Oct 1834 in Camden, Oneida Co., NY, died 8 Sep 1920 in Long Beach, Los Angeles Co., CA, was the son of a farmer, Orange Barlow (1794-1862), and Elizabeth Whaley (1805-1883). On 3 Sep 1868, Nathan married Eliza Jane Humphrey (1840-1907). The couple had 11 children (all born in MI):

Edith Maude Barlow (1869-1886)
Nathan Everett Barlow (1871-1893)
Juliet Barlow (1872-1923)
Bronson Barlow (1873-1953)
Oliver Whitney Barlow (1875-1965)
Claude Heman Barlow (1876-1969)
Lyman Clifford Barlow (1877-1951)
Ula Belle Barlow (1879-1979)
Chester A. Barlow (1880-1935)
Florence May Barlow (1881-1935)
Iva Dell "Ruth" Barlow (1883-1970)

Nathan Pratt Barlow is listed in the 1850 and 1860 Census data for Onondaga Township, Ingham Co., MI; the 1870 Census data for Midland, Midland Co., MI; the 1880 Census data for Otisco, Ionia Co., MI; the 1900 Census data for Greenville (resided at 199 Orange Street), Montcalm Co., MI; the 1910 Census data for Elgin, Union Co., MI; and the 1920 Census data for Long Beach (resided at 3029 Mariquita Street), Los Angeles Co., CA.

The two youngest children were both born in Spencer Mills, MI. I'm guessing that the infant that Mrs. Barlow is holding on her lap in the photo is Florence.
