I have been going over all the information and it has thrown up some questions. Is Stephen, father of James, the Stephen born in 1793?
The mother of my Sarah was Mary Ann Barman, born in 1816 with no husband listed at the time. But a Mary Ann Barman married a John Quested in 1841.
The problem is that if your Sarah is a sister to James then she can't be my Sarah as Mary Ann would only have been 12 when James was born. Unless they were half brother and sister (if so what happened to Stephen's first wife/partner?) or could Stephen be the father of Mary Ann and Sarah be his grand-daughter living with him? Is it definite that your Sarahwas James sister or is it assumed because they lived in the same house and had the same name? Could Sarah have been James's neice?
I am speculating on all the possibilities that fit the dates! The alternative is that we have two seperate sets of people.
But other facts tie up. For example my Sarah having a son George in 1858 and your Sarah having a son George in 1858!
Also I think the one month old unnamed female might be Agnes Tunbridge Barman (remember my Sarah's George was George Tunbridge Barman) born 1861. She married an Edward John Rayner in 1882.
By the way, can I ask are you in U.S. or U.K.?
