  of 1660

James Barnhill was listed as the son-in-law of Hardy Roberts in the 6 March 1789 will of Hardy Roberts. He received a cow and calf. Greenville County, SC will book A, page 24. Estate papers recorded in Apt 6, file 387, Greenville Co, SC. Others mentioned in the will were Hardy's wife, Patience Roberts and sons Sherod Roberts, James Roberts, Hardin Roberts, and Josiah Roberts.

On 30 January 1796, Josiah Roberts and wife Rachel sold 100 acres from the Hardy Roberts grant to John Simmons. Witnesses were Sherod Roberts and Winney Barnhill.
Greenville Deed Book N, page 67.

It appears from these two records that Winney was the daughter of Hardy Roberts and the wife of James Barnhill.
