Hi Fred,

Might be good to glean information from the previous postings on this site? At one time Neil C. and Stan Barnhill were researching John N. Barnhill and found their information helpful.

Key in John N. Barnhill which will lead to John D. Barnhill TX. May be wrong but don't think anyone knows for sure who John N. and sister Maria Barnhill's parents were, but they were apparently raised by a Parson Carter and wife living in LA who might have been aunt & uncle or cousins?

Only other thing can remember is that I came to the conclusion that John N. was not living in AL at the time and had joined the company from another state, either during their travel or after reaching TX as some soliders did?

Don't mean to add to the confusion but there was also a John Barnhill who can be found on an early census for LA and don't think anyone has figured that one out yet?

Good Luck,
Cat
