Cathy - Several years ago, I corresponded with Benny Altom Hook to confirm very early relationships between the Carter family and the Barnhills. I have succeded in verifying this connection... Parson Carter married Anne Hays Dortch. The dade is said to be 1 August, 1805 but I have yet to verify that. They had 7 children total, with William Dortch Carter being the second, born January 30, 1808. His wife was Eliza Worley, and they had a son named William Parson Carter. See GEDCOM file at Rootsweb.com, World Connect project submitted by R J Poole, Created on 23 FEB 2008.
