Texas Researchers,
Just wanted to share the good news that in the future it is going to be a lot easier to find Barnhill and related family members thanks to the Texas Cemetery Project and their work in trying to locate and survey all of the cemeteries in Texas.
One item of interest to some of you Texas Barnhill reseachers is the final resting place of Pleasant Alexander Barnhill, 1816-1907 and his wife Eliza Jane Foster, 1823-1907 who were found in the Oak Wood Cemetery in Austin, Texas.
Pleasant Alexander Barnhill at age 17, along with his father, William Barnhill, Jr. and mother, Cynthia Hodge Barnhill and other siblings migrated to Texas in Dec 1833 and were the first Barnhills to settle in Texas.
The Andrew Deavers Houston Family Cemetery in Garfield, Travis County, Texas has not be surveyed yet but this is where believe that Cynthia Barnhill and possibly Emily Houston Barnhill are buried. Hoping to generate some interest from local decendants in getting this cemetery surveyed soon.
