Edmund Barrett / Honora (Reilly) Barrett - Ireland -> MA early 1880's

I have been researching the William Barrett family that came from Ireland in 1880 and ended up in Fitchburg MA. William Barrett, born in Ireland, arrived in 1880 (per census.) He made his first appears in the Fitchburg MA city directory in 1881. In 1882, he married Annie Murphy, daughter of Timothy (or possibly Thomas) Murphy and Annie Carmody. William lived in Fitchburg until his death in 1940.

Living with this William Barrett family from 1883 until her death in 1901, is his mother, Honora (Reilly) Barrett, daughter of Reilly and Gould, from Ireland. She was the widow of William Barrett, who died before 1884, and probably earlier. (Honora arrived 1883.)

Also found as a border of the William Barrett family is Edmund Barrett, who lived with them per the city directory in 1887 and 1888. Edmund was still living in Fitchburg, but not with the family in 1890 and 1891. By 1893, Edmund no longer appears in the Fitchburg directory.

Who is this Edmund Barrett? Could he be a son of William and Honora (Reilley) Barrett, and brother of the William Barrett who married Annie Carmody? At this point, this is just a wild guess, but perhaps someone else has information about the family that might help me, or this scanty information might help someone find their own connection.
