I have a rather oblique interest in James D. Barrett. I am researching Walkers ofPG and FR. Currently I'm interested in a Thomas Walker, b. PG 1773in PG to Henry and Elinor Piles Walker. This Thomas received some land in PG called Hunters Folly from the will(1792) of a Jonathan Hunter Piles, brother of his mother Elinor.Thomas Walker sold this land in 1822 to George Semmes of PG. At the time Thomas lived in FR. James D Barrett was one of the witnesses.
This is important to me because I have traced possible descendants of Thomas to TuscarawasCo. OH.However I hit a glitch when I found that Thomas's son John D. was a physician and so was his grandson Columbus Thomas Walker. An obit of Columbus says that he is the third generation of physicians! Now, I know nothing about Thomas becoming a doctor, BUT seeing that he was known to and possibly close to James D. Barrett, perhaps he was. This would cement my lineage and give me two male descendants for DNA. If you know anything more about James D that might tie him to my Thomas, I'd appreciate hearing from you.Joan Majtenyi
