Thomas Barrett 5/30/11
Since my post of 7/17 I have learned more about James D. and believe that he was the son of Joseph L. Barrett and Elizabeth Williams who married Sept 26, 1789 in Prince George's Co, MD. I believe that Joseph was the son of Richard Barrett who married Ann Ball in 1759. Richard and Ann are listed in the 1776 census of Prince Georges on page 79 as age 51 with sons 24, 19, 16, 15, 9 Wife Ann (nee Ball?) daughters 20, 12. Female slaves 33 . 1?
Richard Barrett lived near my Walkers, John on the same page and his father Henry on p 78. In 1810, Joseph Barrett live next to Henry Walker. Thus, I think they knew each other well. Hypothetically, Joseph L might have been a physician as well and this led to his son JamesD and also my Thomas s/o Henry becoming physicians. If you are interested I have a copy of a medical bill written by James D. Barrett in 1826 when he was treating a Zachariah Walker. (Zachariah is not connected with Henry John and Thomas, but is of the Francis Walker line). I will be glad to share whatever I have. Joan
