Kyle
I have a Jacob Bashore who was 45 in 1850. He came from PA. His wife Catharine age 46, Daniel (son) age 7, Mary Ann age 13 (dau) and som Jacob Jr age 8. The spouse and all the children were born in PA. This family came to Putnam Co Illinois some where between 1840 and 1850. Our ancestor Samuel Henderson married Mary Bashore. They had children and Samuel was killed in the Civil War. The children were put in an orphanage. I think maybe the Bashore family (other children) went west-several did from that community. . Mary is burried at the little community plot in Putnam Co so is Jacob and Eliza. I don't know if there were other Bashore families around the Putnam Co area or not. Othe families connected to the Bashores were: Smith, Allen, Cassell, Beck, Deininger, and Clemems.
