That is why this case is so confusing.....we know for certain that the mother of Malcomb Clark Basket alias Malcomb Clark Middleton was named Jeanett/Jannett Clark and that her parents were Malcomb and Nancy Buie Clark of Cumberland Co., NC. The father was a Middleton son. And very likely the James B. Middleton mentioned in Mary Clark's will.

All I know about Alexander McMillion is that he died ca. 1765 in Bute Co., NC. One of his grandsons (Alan McMillion) witnessed a deed in Lancaster Co., SC that also had Thomas Middleton's name(need to check record to remember how or why). Ammon Mc Million/Mcmillan was listed as living in SC on an early (mid 1770's) deed in Warren/Bute NC records. He had a son named Alan McMillan. I have not located Phebe after the will of her husband in 1765. Granville, Warren and Bute Tax Lists should be searched for her. Ammon moved to AL early 1830's as well as a John W. Middleton (also found as a witness on a Weaver deed and a likely son of Thomas Middleton.) Would appreciate any clues you may have found on this family.
