Ken-
Thanks for the email concerning William Baskett. My interest in the family is strictly historical as I'm not related. I've been working for several years on a restoration project of Seattle's "Grand Army of the Republic" cemetery, located on Capitol Hill, where approximately 500 Civil War veterans are buried. William Baskett is one of them.
Our project has had the assistance of a professional genealogist that worked up the genealogies of all the veterans buried there. If you go to the web page she produced ( http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=SRCH&db=drowa&surname=A%20 ), you'll find all the information we have on the Baskett's. I know William was in a Missouri Militia regiment during the war, so this may be your family. Let me know what you find. You may be eligible to belong to the "Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War" ( www.suvcw.org )
I retired from the reserves in 1996 down at McChord AFB, where I was flying the C-141 in the 97th MAS.

Lee
