Ernest H. Bass 24 son of Fred and Louise appears in the 1930 census of Commodore, Indiana County, PA
Earnest and family is listed in the 1920 census of Cooper Twp., Clearfield County, PA.
According to the 1910 census they were living in Young Twp., Jefferson County, PA. They are misindexed under the name Bars.
The 1900 census has the family living in Bell Twp., Jefferson County.
Frederick was born Feb 1873 in Germany and Louise was born March 1870 in Alsace Lorraine. He immigrated ca 1888 and she ca 1892. They were married ca 1892.
Some of these records you can look at for free at beta.familysearch.org and Ancestry.com. For those you cannot see for free I suggest checking with your local libraries to see if they have Ancestry or Heritage Quest.
Check with the Indiana County Historical and Genealogical Society to see if they can help you find obituaries and burial places. You might also try the Clearfield County Historical Society and the Jefferson County Historical Society.
Once you know when and where Fred and Louise died I suggest getting their death certificates. They should have data on their parents. Their marriage record might also have something on their parents and possibly exactly where they were born. In Pennsylvania marriages are recorded at the Register of Wills office in the county where the license is gotten. I would start with Jefferson County.
Frederick probably filed for citizenship. Unless he filed at a federal district court he would have filed at the Prothonotary Office of the county he was living in at the time. Again I would start with Jefferson County. Hopefully if nothing else it will tell you when and where he arrived. It might also tell you exactly where he was born.
