I am looking for any information on the family of Christian Botchlett. His last name may have been spelled "Batschalet". He was born abt. 1820 in Bern, Switzerland. He married Elizabeth Warmbrodt inWolperswil, Switzerland. They came to the U.S. around 1857-1860 and settled in Kenton, Hardin Co., Ohio. Christian died in 1887 in Kenton, and his wife died 22 Feb 1918, also in Kenton.
They had the following children:
1. Frederick, b. 25 Dec 1848 in Switzerland d. 3 Jan 1921 in Hobart, OK
2. Julius, b. 2 Aug 1850 in Switz. m. Anna Koons or Koontz 9 Apr 1878 in Hardin Co., OH d. 6 Jul 1930 in Hardin Co., OH
3. Adolphus "Delphis", b. 3 Jul 1853 in Switz. m. Ruth Anna Dismore 14 Feb 1874 in Washington Co., IN d. 13 Dec 1945 in Hobart, OK
4. Mary, b. ca 1857, probably in U.S. m. Edward K. Sorgen 5 Aug 1880 in Hardin Co., OH
5. Celia, b. 23 Dec 1858 in OH m. John Sorgen 5 Aug 1875 in Hardin Co., OH d. 23 Nov 1936
6. Helen/Helena/Lena, b. Mar 1861 in OH m. Charles Dysert 3 Oct 1883 in Hardin Co., OH d. 5 Jun 1943
7. Elizabeth, b. ca 1864 in OH m. George Holland 28 Sep 1880 in Hardin Co., OH
8. Ida, b. ca 1866 in OH d. 16 Sep 1941 in Hardin Co., OH
9. Sarah, b. ca 1872 - no further information
Christian may be the brother of Simon Peter Bartchlett, born abt, 1825 near Bern, Switzerland, and died in 1874 in Ohio.
