Michael,
Frances Missouri's father was Isaac Battle, who was also the JP officiating in her marriage. Isaac and his wife Elizabeth were my great great grandparents. Eizabeth's siblings were Andrew Jackson (b. 1832 Ga, my great GF), Martha, Thomas Jefferson, Levi Franklin, another daughter whose name started w/ "E," and possibly more who died as children or were grown and left behind before Isaac and Elizabeth moved to Texas. I believe that Frances Missouri was born in Ga or Ala. Texas census records show Isaac born in Hancock County Ga in 1804 (& Elizabeth born in S. Carolina). But I have not been able to find definitive records of Isaac's parentage. An Isaac Battle, son of Jesse Battle did live and die in Hancock county, but his only recorded marriage (to Martha Rabun in 1815) produced no child named Isaac. Grace Thornton has suggested that Isaac was the son of Samuel Battles in Alabama, but I believe that she has confused a Battle line with a Battles line. I could relate more, but am out of space.
Good luck finding more.Jack Battle
