In the 1881 census there are only two Edgars in the whole of Yorkshire. The first is age 18, born and living in Wooldale with his parents Andrew & Ellen. Edgar's occupation is given as Fancy Warper. This might be your Edgar as the second Edgar in the census is age 14, born & living in Almondbury with his parents Isaac & Mary. This Edgar's occupation is given as Railway Clerk. I have other information from the 1891 census.
