I am an Israeli Freemason currently working on a project to commemorate Freemason ANZAC soldiers who died in what was then Palestine during WW1 & WW2.

One of the names we have uncovered is Capt. Eric Charles Battye 1st Australian Light Horse - Killed in action 16 July 1918 Age 32 - Son of Charles Herbert Wynyard Battye and Isabella Battye of 37, Wentworth Rd. Strathfield NSW
Native of Balmain NSW
He is buried in the Jerusalem War cemetery.
Can any shed some light on this brave man who died serviong his country? We are planning to hold a Masonic memorial service on ANZAC day probably in 2003. Any help and information will be greatly appreciated.
Best regards,
Eli Minoff
