I am not sure if there is a connection as Withernwick has not yet come up in my searches, however I have not been able to go back very far on the Batty side, but this is what I have:

William Batty married Eliza (no dates). They had 3 sons that I have traced so far: Thomas (b. 1855, Aldbrough nr. Hull), Jonathan (b. 1856, Aldbrough) and George O. (b. abt 1860, Aldbrough).

Jonathan (Sometimes spelled surname 'Battie' as in 1881 census) married Sarah Ann Croft in 1877 in Skipsea Yorkshire.

Ring any Bells?!
