Hello Sandra

It looks as though we may be interested in different Batty family lines. However, here are a few details that will help you check if there is a link.

My Batty ancestry includes Marshall Batty, a seaman, who moved from Keyingham to Hull in the early 1800s. In Hull, Marshall and his wife Anne (listed as a seaman's wife in the 1851 census) had at least 9 children: Mary Ann (1829), William (1831), Thomas (1833), Matthew (1835), Marshall (c. 1836), George (1837), John (1842), Sarah (1844) and Henry (1849). William, a shipwright, was my great great grandfather.

Marshall's father was Daniel Batty and his uncle was Thomas Batty, both lived in Keyingham.

Best wishes, Andrew
