Andrew, the information I have Is :-
Thomas Batty born 4th September 1813, died 20th February 1889 Aged 76. 2nd Marriage was to Margaret Boyd 30th September 1847. (the Boyd family were millwrights ). Married in St. Mary's Sculcoates.
Thomas had a son Daniel Batty born 18th August 1850, died 1922.Christened in Drypool 8 September 1850. Daniel married Elizabeth Stokill (Stokell ?) 5th October 1872. Daniel had 11 children one of whom was my Grandfather Charles Henry.
I have documentation for all the above.
Going backwards, without full confirmation, it appears Thomas Batty may have been christened in Preston by Hedon 5th September 1814. His Father was Daniel and his profession was a Gardener, so date of birth would have been late 1700's. Records show a Daniel Batty born 6th July 1779 and christened same date Preston by Hedon (But link not proven).
Family records also include a banruptcy document for Thomas Ashton of Liverpool. Link not yet known.Regards, Adrian Batty.
