I have a William Henry Batty born, March 31st, 1861, in Armthorpe, West Riding, Yorkshire to James and Sarah Batty. He was a Police Constable according to his marriage certificate in 1883 and according to the 1901 census, at which time he was living in Upperthong. I do not have a death date for him but am sure that he and/or his sons set up a Bakery in Doncaster.
He twice married, his wife at the time of his death would have been Sarah. Let me know if you need more information. I am from Australia and would appreciate anything information you have.
If this is the same fellow he is my great great grandfather.
