follow up Battye changed to Battye

this is my family tree the name was changed from Batty to Battye by my Great grandad Joseph presumably because he was born out of wedlock which would have been a stigma in those days.
* Denotes my desendents.

Samuel Batty Married Christiana Law
12-2-1772 at Halifax UK
Two Children:
Jonas* Christened 11-8-1776 at Bradford
William Christened 27-8-1780 at Birstal

Jonas Married Hannah Rowley at Birstal 1806* Hannah remarried a William Porritt and Died in 1851
Ten Children
Mary Christened 7-9-1806
Christiana Christened 8-1-1809
John Christened 24-5-1812
Elizabeth* Christened 17-12-1813
Martha Christened 19-11-1815
Susana Christened 15-11-1818
Samuel Christened 8-4-1821
Joseph Christened 24-8-1823
William Christened 17-4-1825
Hannah Christened 2-12-1827

Here comes the change of name
Joseph* born out of wedlock to Elizabeth*
17-3-1841 Christened 23-1-1842 Died 2-8-1873.

Joseph married Diana : Diana was born 1844 died 9-1-1912.
Six children
Harry* born 5-12-1874

Harry married Marion Leech who was born 1876 died 1962
Nine children
I was wrong in my first posting as the name was only changed in the 1800s
Would like Know if any of the above fits into any other research
carried out.
