Lorrain,
Your message is interesting because of the Bryant and Garner names. My Curtis line of Frederick County, VA to Randolph County, NC was connected to these names. My Thomas Curtis married Eleanor Bryant who was born in North Farnham Parish, Richmond County, VA around 1750. There was a Parrish and Vincent Garner in Randolph County, NC at the same time as Thomas Curtis and one of the descendants of Thomas was named Sarah Garner Curtis.I would really like to know if the line of Parrish and Vincent (which I understand is that of the Garner/Keene line of Prince William County, VA) intermarried with my Curtis line.I do know that Parrish Garner married a Lydia Curtis but I don't yet know her parents.Anything you might know about Curtises, as well as Sheets, would be appreciated. There was a famous Civil War political figure by the name of Charles C. Sheets. He caused Winston County, AL to be called "the free state of Winston" because of wanting to secede from the Confederacy. His mother was Mary Garner, daughter of a Jacob Garner.I would really like to know who were the parents of Jacob Garner.Mary Garner was b. about 1810 and I wonder if the Jacob Garner in your message could be her father.I believe he married a Mary Hunter. My Curtis ancestor, John Solomon Curtis, was part of this Civil War drama in Winston County, AL also.
Anything you might know would be appreciated.
