Larry, I was able to get verification of Balthesar's Revolutionary service from the D.A.R. (Daughters of the American Revolution)in Washngton, D.C. I reviewed his file there and I have a copy of his will. He served in a Pa. Regiment. Their address is 1776 D St. N.W. Washington, D.C., not sure of zip code. I will have to look it up, I'll let you know it and also their telephone #. His file does notlist a pension, I am sure he had one and also property bounty from the war. His file has him living in Augusta Co. Va. and Botetourt, Va. (will was filed there by John). He was born in Pa. 1749, died in 1819. I will let you know more when I find out. I would like to find out his regiment and regimental history to see if he fought in any of the major battles. Jeri has a lot of information on John and the Bumgardner family, also. I am a descendant of Henry, John's brother. Henry, Peter,Jacob moved to Gallia,Ohio. (This could have been Balthesar's bountyland?)Also Ohio was part of Va. before it became a state in 1803. See Augusta Co.& Botetourt Co.Va., web site, it went all the way out to Illinois&up to Wisconsin!Try my e-mail again,it was down for a day or so due to a wind storm.
