A Baumgardner Jewish Connection

the American name Bumgardner is a corruption of the German name Baumgardner, which literally means "Tree Gardner". Baumgardner would have originated first, because there is no German translation for the name bumgardner. from the book 'Finding Our Fathers: A Guidebook to Jewish Genealogy. By Dan Rottenberg' here is an excert:

Baum - Ashkenazic name that means "tree" in German.

some surnames that stem from this include Baumer, Baumgardner, Baumgart, Baumgarten, Baumgartner. these names are all Jewish in origin based upon the common occuring stem. in this day and age, these names have no bearing as to what the owners' religious preferences may be. but i thought some other people might be interested in knowing the connections surrounding the name Baumgardner.
