This Margaret Bayard is probably the daughter of Stephen Bayard and Alida Vetch, who was baptized in New York on August 30, 1741. Her two brothers: Brit. Col. William Bayard and Brit. Maj. Robert Bayard also both left the U.S. after the Revolutionary War, William dying in 1804 at Southampton, England, and Robert dying in 1815 at Bath in Somersetshire. This Margaret's paternal grandparents were Col. Samuel Bayard and Margaret Van Cortlandt. I hope this helps. I am a Bayard descendant and have done a great deal of research and have acquired much source material containig Bayard genealogy. Eric Bal
