Chevalier Bayard-knighted by Kg. Henry 4

I am basing this message on a 1918 letter that was written to my 2nd great uncle Augustus Johnson by his cousin Georgia Walker Thomas. In this letter she writes that they are directly descended from Chevalier Bayard. She also notes that they are also related to duBois, de Rossets, Ravenells. She also states that their (Georgia's and Augustus's) 2nd great grandfather du Bois was married to Helene Bayard and was sent over by the Classes of Holland to New Amsterdam, to preach. I am so confused I hope that I have not confused you also. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My family tree stops at James Henry Walker (1800-1861). I think this is where the connection would come to. Jennifer
